Lovely village on the Fillongly Rd. Reputed and contested to be the centre of England. Been many years since I last visited. Previously I was a regular visitor to the Bulls Head and the Strawberrybank Restraunt. The Restraunt changed hands in about 1978/79. Never felt the same after that, it lost the personal touch.

Cyclist monument in the village commemorates all cyclists that lost their lives in the 1939-1945 war.

Also Home to Triumph motorcycles until around 1983.

I remember Meriden quite well, the stone cross and the business that sold a very good range
of Horticultural equipement. It was a very pleasant village.
Gerald.
