We headed up hill to get to it. Not sure what hill was called. I have a feeling that Stonedelph was near and Wilnecote.

Was it called Wainrigg or Wessenden?

Do you know Wainrigg rings a bell. That name had completely gone out of my head. Number 17 if memory serves me well.

Yes I know where that is. They are nice houses up there, nice and quite all brought houses no council tenants.

I often wondered how the place turned out. It was a nice little two bed, I had the one with larger garden as I had a Land Rover to park as well as my mini van.

Shame I had to let it go, the recession hit big time, self employed, no work! First and only time in my life I claimed dole. As self employed I had to wait 8 weeks before eligible for benefit.

I have a mate up around that area. We keep in touch at Christmas but not seen him for about 10 years, he must be 73 now. Since I've found out how easy it is to get to that neck of the woods I'll pay him a visit and call in Wainrigg. Isn't it funny how that name had completely gone from my mind, as though I'd blanked it out.

Perhaps it was because of a bad memory.

You're probably right, tough times.  I vowed never again and I've grafted, done jobs no one else wanted and done ok.
