Should we ban the use of the word Easter.
Why have so many organisations called their events, egg weekend, egg hunt weekend, find an egg weekend. so on and so on.
They have always been Easter Eggs. So who put pressure on people to change it. Mrs May thinks it is very stupid and so do I.
Why are we making changes with so many things to suit other people.
A very upset
Gerald.

Many of the younger generation have no idea what Easter represents.  I believe that with our multicultural religions we live in fear of upsetting other religious groups.  We live in the United Kingdom which is a Christian country, why should we have to change our beliefs, other religions don't change their beliefs to suit us.

Please don't ban the word Easter.

It was my mum's maiden name and there are a lot of living Easters that wouldn't be too chuffed!

We will not be banning the word Easter on this forum. We have to stop dong everything to please other people and look after our own people.
What has been done is a political move to get votes.
Keep well
Gerald.

Yes, we should keep the word Easter. I also think its about time we started to push back against all this banning of words, festivals and celebrations that mean so much to many of us.

Again I feel its the minorities that are calling the shots with little regard of the affect it has on the majority. Should we protest, we are labeled as racist or bigoted, yet I don't recall ever complaining about other religions having their celebrations.

As someone has said on this thread, this is a Christian country. I have been Baptised into the faith and I try to live my life along Christian values. I see this as doing good where I can and try not to do any harm. Yet I do not attend church except for Weddings, Christenings, Funerals and the Christmas  Carol Service.

I don't want to go off topic but I feel its worth mentioning. At Christmas I bought some Boursin Cheese. The box was printed slightly different to normal. It looked Christmasy!  In script the word 'Merry' was very plain. There were also some scroll type patterns in what I would describe as Christmas colours; green, red and black on white background. So I thought this is a Christmas packaged cheese to celebrate Christmas. The word Christmas was nowhere to be seen on the box or on the cheese. So, good sales and marketing by Bourson, they probably sold more cheese because it stood out, but why not mention Christmas after the word 'Merry'Huh Just in case they offended someone is the only reason I can think of.
