Hi all, I'm trying to find out if my Great Grandmother Esther Aston was employed in the big house arought the end of the 1800's can any one help with servants lists or knowledge please.

Hello Tony,

Try.... The National Archives....they do carry information on civil and crown servants.

You will find this site a veritable hive of information.... A thousand years of history....

Hi Tony,
Alternatively, you could try of contacting Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. They are now responsible for the house and may have the relative information in their archives: bmag_enquiries@birmingham.gov.uk
