I watched this programme last night..... it was by Andrew Marr's....I would, i might add, watch it again and i dare say it will be screened again. For those of you that are interested in the war this was number three out of his six shows.... headed.... The Making of Modern Britain.... BBC 2.... It is truly amazing how we are kept in the dark, in some cases i agree, in other cases i find it quite insulting. This programme was so very very interesting with regard to the war, not only on the front line but also at home. Many things came to light, which i presume most had no idea of for instance how the Unknown soldier was selected/chosen to lie at Westminster, this i found very moving. Moving on also during the war with regard to Roger Casement his involvement with Germany and  how the troubles in Ireland began...Holly

ANOTHER SERIES.

HISTORY OF MODERN BRITAIN.... BY Andrew Marr.

Last night i watched British society, beginning with Labour's election win in 1945

These programmes really are interesting, Lots of pictorial images, and much, much, more.

There is another one on next Friday BBC 2 AT 7:OO....This one is about Britain entering a golden age in the fifties which glosses over social tensions of the time...Cat
