Kandor I have read your post and for the life of me can only imagine what you went through. Was there nobody outside who could of helped you? After being blown up I have no idea how you managed to get home it must have been a second life kicking in. Do you still have flash backs and have all your injuries healed up? If your son had not married an Irish girl would your feeling towards the Irish still be the same? At least your still here to share your story, that's one good thing to come out of an atrocity.

All the best Kandor keep smiling. Smiley

Great stuff I do remember cars travelling like that, but it's the Dodgems that stick out in my mind. Did these cars have their own engines? As can't see any pole for the electric circuit.

Countrylad

Question: What's the difference between a dodgem and a Brooklands Speedway? Dodgems get their power from the overhead mesh which runs down a pole, through the motor and then goes into the metal track. On the Speedway, there are positive and negative strips running around the track and each strip is separated by insulation. A series of brushes under the car pick up the electricity from the positive strip, it runs through the motor and returns down a different brush to the negative one.

As I said earlier I had a banana plant it grew to about 18 inches and that was it. I got a few shoots of it though. If someone knows how to grow one bigger I would love to know.

My favourite school LOL. Alderlea, you went in as a normal human and came out as a raving lunatic. Rampton had nothing on this place.

Townie, do you remember one of the teachers a Alderlea grew an Avacardo plant? I didn't see much fruit in them days apart from peaches out of a can. I'd never heard of Avocado.....

Twm if you know what he taught I might have a clue.
