Who gave Beeching the job and told him what they wanted.

G G it's not the government that makes the decisions it's the Civil Servants that come up with the ideas and coers the government into accepting them.

Hello Edmund
You are quite right. These people just want to line their own pockets. My youngest Son went up to Water Orton at the weekend.
He said it looks good so why destroy it with the stupid HS2. I lived in Castle Bromwich and Water Orton after leaving our real
home in Cathcart Street. Used to go very often to Coleshill and try to catch fish and have a splash in the river.
Did you ever go to Castle Bromwich Hall to pick Bluebells for your Mom. Always had a lookout in case someone can and
caught us.
My Sons are both born in Pembrokeshire so are Welsh, when they go up to the Midlands they are Brummies Taffy boys. They think
that is great and a real sign of friendship.
Take care

Who made a very large sum of money from the scrap metal.
They should be named and shamed even now.
I think we are all getting fed up of being taken to the cleaners.
Do you want the rich to get richer and the genuine poor to get poorer.
Watch this space.

Get ready to go to war. Line up and get your Motorcycle Helmet, Dustbin Lid and Broom Handle.

I well remember the Scouts getting off the train at Castle Bromwich and walking to Yorks Wood in Shard End.
When we wanted half a dozen chicks, the day olds used to be sent to Castle Bromwich on the train and Mom
and I would take them off the train about 7.00 o'clock in the morning. When we got home we would put them in a box
in the living room and have a little light bulb above them to keep them warm.
What great days and memories.
My wife and I have done so many of these things for our children.
Best wishes

On the TV last night was a very good programme about Beeching destroying the Welsh Railway system.
It really brought Wales to its knees because no alternatives in place. Very difficult to get to work and friends
and families lost touch with each other.
What person and government would inflict that on people. Greed for scrap metal money. These people
were a disgrace to society.

At the time these people in government were so removed from normal life, they weren't interested in ordinary  people who had to work for a living, and had to geet to there work place,
