Kandor (Les Robinson) has asked on Face-book for someone to post his condolences for Beryl and her family
Quote
Do me a favour please? will you write my condolences on the history websites for Beryl.
I know that Les had a great respect for Beryl and admired her writing and poetry very much.
Quote
Les Robinson I heard today that a person I admired so very much as a poetess and writer, my one time friend, one of the most determined ladies I've ever known, passed away on the 16th July.
Rest in peace Beryl, we had our differences but my admiration for you never once went away.

McMullen, Beryl - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Beryl on Friday, July 16, 2010 at North York General Hospital. Dearly loved wife of Stuart. Sister of Jean (Brian) and Martyn (deceased) (June). Devoted mother of Valerie Stalker, Andrew (Theresa) and Barbara (Michael) Mansbridge. Adoring and loving grandmother of Jennifer (Ron), Kristine, Robert (Joyce), Darcy, Paul, Duncan and Steven. Great- grandmother of Evan and Colin. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. at Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge St., Richmond Hill on Thursday, July 22. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel at 11 a.m., Friday, July 23. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Beryl and myself wrote this verse between us

It’s time for this spirit to leave
No time for you to sit and grieve

A soul too soft its pain to bear
Soon to leave this hemisphere
Is death not the open door - free of pain?
Through which we pass to life again

Keep in line with mine eye
And stay with me till dawn is nigh
We do have but a little while.
So let me see that lovely smile!

If only you could see how truly you
Breathe life into these lungs and my soul too!
I wonder what my final thought will be
What sight will be my eyes last see?

When life’s light turns to endless night
With your eyes no longer in my sight
And death’s calm soothes to end the storm
One last happy smile on my lips will form

For as the sun illumes the eastern skies
I’ll pass through Glory’s gate and walk in Paradise!

That is quite a piece of work, talking of one's demise in such a knowing way, full of love and feeling.
